What is MIRON Violetglass®?

MIRON Violetglass® is a proprietary violet glass designed to control which wavelengths of light reach the product inside. Compared with clear or conventional amber glass, MIRON filters a broader range of visible light while allowing specific UV and infrared frequencies to pass through. This creates a more controlled light environment that can help slow light-induced degradation and support the stability of sensitive natural ingredients.

UV Glass Co is an official UK distributor of genuine MIRON Violetglass®, supplying jars and bottles from UK stock for cosmetics, supplements, botanicals, food, beverages and other premium formulations.

Why choose MIRON violet glass?

  • Controlled light exposure: MIRON is designed to filter light more selectively than clear or conventional coloured glass.
  • Supports product stability: Reduced exposure to wavelengths that drive change can help preserve colour, aroma and composition over time.
  • Premium glass packaging: The deep violet colour is part of the glass itself, not a surface coating.
  • Reusable and recyclable: Glass can be cleaned, reused where appropriate and recycled.
  • Wide range of formats: MIRON jars and bottles are available for creams, balms, powders, capsules, herbs, spices, liquids and other products.

MIRON vs clear and amber glass

Clear glass allows most visible light to reach the contents. Amber glass offers broader light protection, particularly in the UV range, but still allows part of the visible spectrum through. MIRON violet glass is engineered to filter the light spectrum differently, creating a more controlled environment for light-sensitive products.

Which MIRON packaging is right for your product?

Choose the format according to the formulation, viscosity, filling process and how the end customer will use it. Browse our MIRON cosmetic jars, wide neck jars, child-resistant jars, vitamin and supplement jars and water bottles, or view the full range.

Minimum order quantities and quantity price breaks are shown directly on each product page. Orders placed before 1pm are eligible for same-day dispatch, subject to availability, and collection can also be arranged.

Does MIRON glass stop product degradation completely?

No packaging can stop all change indefinitely. Shelf life depends on the formulation, filling process and storage conditions. MIRON's light-filtering properties are designed to help slow processes affected by light. For important formulations, the most reliable approach is to test the packaging with your own product.
